#Listen to the talk: AI

After listening to this speech, I have some expectations for future technology, but at the same time I am worried, because AI can improve our efficiency and production value, but because Neuralink is developing a brain-computer interface, although it can only be done by humans at present the brain controls the computer mouse, and external knowledge cannot be implanted into the brain yet. However, what we can think about is that when the brain-computer interface can be realized, what is the difference between the human brain and the computer? What is the meaning of human existence? At the beginning, the speaker mentioned that what we should think about is "not which job will be replaced by AI, but which part of your field will be replaced by AI." Everyone has to think about how their own field can compete with AI. Combining tools, starting from its own field, because it is just a tool, the speaker introduced many websites in the speech, these websites can help improve our efficiency, and also remind us that if AI can do better than us, then we will don't do this part. Only by doing what AI can't do can you create your own value and avoid being completely replaced by AI. It also illustrates the importance of learning English.  Although AI is currently very powerful in translation, he believes that the importance of English will only increase in the short term and may decrease in the long term, because English is an indispensable medium for collaboration with AICG and obtaining the latest information, and major LLMs all speak English, so English is still necessary to learn in the short term, and all language learning principles remain unchanged, but the originally difficult directions will become easier. As long as the tools get better, hard work is still indispensable, but the reason why it is not other languages is that language learning is never just about manpower, it also depends on the application coverage and national strength. Finally, he also reminded the audience that critical thinking is the most important thing for human beings next ability, things or cognitions that cannot be copied and pasted, such as experiential marketing, will be the most valuable, and education is no longer based on knowledge, but on adapting ability. His speech gave me a new understanding. Start thinking of ways to create your own differences, and lifelong learning and flexible adaptation will be more important in the changing future.

  1. I also quite like the idea that 'education is no longer based on knowledge, but on adapting ability'. Quite true, isn't it? Nice reflection and good insights, Betty.
